Writer. Performer. Writer/Performer. Speechwriter. Speechwriter/Performer.
Chandler Dean is a comedy writer/performer from Houston, Texas, currently based in New York City. His YouTube channel, ChandlerDeanVideos, has accumulated over 22,000 subscribers and 6 million views. His writing has been featured in The New Yorker, McSweeney's, Reductress, and Hard Drive. He writes/produces for SpeakEasy (a live show at Caveat) and What's the Big Idea? (a virtual show on Instagram Live). He also wrote for What the Patriarchy Means to Me, a late-night-style sketch show starring Liz Plank at UCB Theatre.
He is the co-host of not one, but TWO podcasts: The Daily Show Weekly, a quixotic effort to watch every episode of Jon Stewart's Daily Show, with his buddy Vic Shuttee; and Uncertified Fresh, a movie review/prediction podcast, with his girlfriend Carolina Treviño. Plus, one time he tweeted angrily about a former hero of his, and that was featured in the New York Times.
Currently, he is a Director at the speechwriting firm West Wing Writers, where he often does humor writing, sometimes intentionally, and his work for clients has been published in the Washington Post and USA Today. He has also been a Production Intern at The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, a Writers Room Intern at Late Night with Seth Meyers, and a Field Intern at Full Frontal with Samantha Bee. At Late Night, he wrote 100+ setups for monologue jokes that made air, and at Full Frontal, he pitched the Shark Tank joke in this field piece.
He has created and performed two full-length comedy shows: Carpetbagger at Birth and An Evening of Stories and Sounds with Chandler Dean, both of which can be seen in full on YouTube.
And you KNOW that he performs improv, characters, and stand-up comedy all OVER the city!
